Introduction

The ATA, Associació Turística d’Apartaments (Tourist Apartment Association of the Costa Brava and Pyrenees of Girona) is an association that represents this specific sector in the Province of Girona. It was set up on 8th June 1993 as a non profit making private association. However it was not until mid 1995 that ATA began to offer specific services to its members with the hiring of specially trained personnel.

Since then it has managed and arranged bookings for thousands of visitors to over 10,000 tourist accommodations that are available in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees area.

ATA is a young dynamic association comprising over 120 companies that together offer the greatest number of officially recognised and approved tourist apartments in the province.

The Association is made up of letting agencies specialising in tourist holiday accommodation and owners of apartment blocks. All of these companies work on a daily basis to offer their clients the best possible service, always adhering to strict codes of practice regarding quality standards and eco awareness. ATA has encouraged the implementation of quality standards and codes of practice in letting agencies and apartment blocks. We have one member who has been awarded the Q for Quality certificate. The “Apartaments Comte d’Empúries” from Empuriabrava which was one of the first to receive this certificate in the Iberian Peninsula.

With the aim of continually improving our services, we have recently restructured our web site and we have extended its contents in order to meet the needs and expectation of our members as well as our clients.
